My Assignment for Digital imaging is a Promotional Piece.
I am required to focus on promoting myself as a visual artist.
Once I have decided on the type of promotional piece or pieces that I would like to produce, I need to document it's production.
Research, rough drafts, mock-ups and initial feedback will be documented and annotated.

I have decided to design a business card - handmade
I have researched handmade Business cards and have decided to try and make a hand-stitched Business Card.

I have sketched some designs and looked at various materials to use.

Painted cotton with Fabric dyes.

Using bondaweb to fix the chiffon onto the painted cotton.

An update on my Promotional piece:-

I prepared various pieces of cotton, material by initially painting them various colours and styles. I then added felt to some and also Chiffon pieces of material, by using Bondaweb to fix the two together.
I then added machine stitch or hand-stitch to the different styles of Business Card. The Cards that I had added felt I embellished with my Electric embellisher and then added voile, net and chifon to create an abstract little piece of art work. This Business card will be the one that I decide on for my Hand-made Card.

Some more photos of me doing my promotional piece:-

These two pieces are made from cotton painted with fabric paint the chiffon added with a design in black added , using bondaweb. I then wrote on top with a fine sharpie pen, luckily it didn't run. This method was the same for both pieces. I quite like them, I may even use this idea for future pieces but to add stitches to them and embelish them.

This collection of moc business cards show machine stitched ones and also a hand painted one and also a lovely felt piece with net embellished and then hand stitch added.
I am still liking the felt one best!

Again another collection of trial business cards, these ones show hand painted pieces that have been embellished with felt - wooltop scraps and then hand stitched.
